Gerrit Rietveld’s only public building was the De Ploeg factory in Bergeijk. Originally a textile mill in the late 1950s, the center of industry and production drew the likes of Donald Judd, among other artists and designers to the area. Now, the company Bruns owns the factory and has renovated it extensively with the help of @atelier_v_asseldonk. They still are producing many things here, like museum exhibition signage, but now it’s part of a much larger initiative to draw back the design community to Bergeijk with the celebration of 100 years of De Stijl.
